For five years (1988-1992), he hosted a radio program on WICR called The Word and Music. On his upcoming appointment, Steele said, "I'm looking forward to my new responsibilities with excitement. It will be a chance to do ministry in a way I haven't before." He looks forward to the opportunity to work with local churches in the district. Ned Steele and his wife, Patty, have two daughters, Hannah (2) and Taylor (9).
