What do you believe about heaven?
Rev. Jan Dimick
Elder, North Conference
Brookston UMC
|
"Heaven - when I am feeling closest to
God, when I preach a sermon that I know is God-directed and God-presented,
when I see God in the life and face of another individual. The first
glimpses of heaven are here and now. The final understanding will come
following my death. |
Rev. Laura McDonald
Unity Chapel
Ramsey
|
"The phrase 'music of the spheres' comes to mind when I think of
heaven. I don't think of it in the future very often, but glimpse it in
the blessings we have here on earth. I hope heaven is shalom in its
fullest sense - complete and peaceful union with God for all." |
Rev. Dennis Shock
First UMC
Crown Point
|
"When Jesus was asked about marriage and
heaven, he implied it was a very different place. We can't comprehend it so
I don't speculate on the specifics. It's where we will experience the love
and peace of God in a more direct way." |
Kenneth Warbriton
Seymour First UMC
Seymour
|
"Heaven is where I will meet Jesus and my
loved ones and friends. I believe heaven is in the sky but I also believe I
may have seen heaven on earth as a result of God's handiwork." |
Theodosia Duncan
University UMC
Indianapolis
|
"As I grow spiritually and read the Bible,
I believe heaven actually exists. We will have a better after-life with our
loved ones. I've lost my fear of death because I know it'll be better." |
