Glenn Miller Orchestra to play in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- Meridian Street United Methodist Church will present a special April 20 vespers concert featuring The Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The performance is expected to appeal to a very large cross-section of Hoosiers and will use the original big band charts so audience members can hear the classic tunes exactly as they remember them at the height of Miller's career. More than 55 years since the public first embraced the successful Miller Sound, both the legend and the music continue. Still considered the greatest band of all time, The Glenn Miller Orchestra's unique sound is loved by most who care for dance music.

The Miller Estate formed the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956 following strong popular demand aroused as a result of the successful motion picture, an immense box office smash- The Glenn Miller Story, starring James Stewart and June Allyson.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra concert will be held at Meridian Street United Methodist Church, 5500 N. Meridian, Indianapolis, on Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Thanks to generous underwriting from Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Associates, tickets are only $20 per person and can be obtained by calling 317-253-3237.
