Women's commission seeks new executive officer

The General Commission on the Status and Role of Women in The United Methodist Church seeks a new chief executive.

According to Bishop Bruce Ough of the West Ohio Area and the commission's search committee, the General Secretary is an executive position providing leadership, vision and implementation of the work of GCSRW; chief spokesperson and interpreter of the goals and philosophy of GCSRW; chief administrator of all programmatic and administrative functions; advocate on behalf of women; and resource person.

The General Secretary's primary responsibility is to "challenge The United Methodist Church to a continuing commitment to the full and equal responsibility and participation of women in the total life and mission of the Church, sharing fully in the power and in the policy-making at all levels of the Church's life."
