UM-related Brightwood Community Center to host Inner-City Music School
INDIANAPOLIS - United Methodist-related Brightwood Community Center, on Indy's near north side, is scheduled to become the home of the Inner-City Music School.

The school has an established faculty of local jazz musicians who are actively giving back to the community in gratitude for all the mentors who helped them early on in life.
According to the Rev. Bob Walters, Metro Ministries executive director, "In comparison, having this outstanding faculty at Brightwood will be like having the Pacers or the Colts run our sports programs."
Walters says major sponsors of the Inner-City Music School include the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and WTPI. He said, "The faculty has committed many, many hours of volunteer or reduced rate lessons. With the sponsorship of the IJF and WTPI, children will receive lessons free of charge. We are looking to the friends of Brightwood to come on board as additional sponsors. We need both cash support and the donations of good used instruments."
