New liberal arts deans selected at UINDYBriere, Langdon will lead university's College of Arts and Sciences The University of Indianapolis has announced a new dean and associate dean for its College of Arts and Sciences. Daniel H. Briere, Ph.D., was named dean of the college. An associate professor of modern languages, Briere has been serving as interim dean during the national search process. Briere's academic interests include the Spanish language, medieval Spanish literature and the Hispanic community in Indianapolis. John J. Langdon, Ph.D., was named associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, effective in September. He is a professor and chair of biology and a professor of anthropology. Langdon will direct the college's graduate and international components. The university's College of Arts and Sciences includes departments of Anthropology, Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Communication, English, History and Political Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Modern Languages, Music, Philosophy and Religion, Physics and Earth-Space Sciences, Social Sciences and Theatre, as well as the Institute for War and Diplomacy.
