Hurricane relief volunteers urged to make arrangements with VIM before traveling
The United Methodist Committee on Relief is asking concerned individuals who want to help with hurricane relief efforts not to travel to hurricane affected regions without first making arrangements with an organization such as United Methodist Conference Volunteers in Mission committees or UMCOR. For more information, visit http://gbgm-umc.org/vim/. There also are many ways individuals can help with efforts through their local churches. Cash donations have now reached $11 million, with $2.7 million coming through the Internet.
