HELEN EATON, wife of the Rev. Roy Eaton (retired pastor and former Marion District Superintendent NIC), died June 18, 2006. A memorial service was held Thurs., June 22, at the First Wayne St. UMC, Fort Wayne, Ind. Survivors include: husband, Roy Eaton; and daughters, Suzanne McCool, Belinda Hayes and Beth Waller. LEROY CHARLES HODAPP, 82, a retired bishop of The United Methodist Church who served as Bishop of the Indiana Area from 1984 to 1992, died May 26, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. During his tenure as an active bishop, Hodapp served as president of the General Board of Church and Society based in Washington, D.C., and also as president of the General Board of Global Ministries based in New York City. Hodapp was the son of Linden Charles and Mary Marguerite Miller Hodapp, and was born in Seymour, Ind., Nov. 11, 1923. He attended the University of Evansville, (B.A.) in 1944. He then attended Drew Theological Seminary (B.D.) in 1947. (Pastoral record on page 1). He married Polly Anne Martin in June 1947. They have two adult daughters: Anne Lynn Gates and Nancy Ellen Wichman. ANTHONY "TONY" R. KLINKER, son of the Rev. Ralph Klinker (retired pastor NIC), died Thursday, June 15, as a result of a traffic accident near Monroeville, Ind. A memorial service was held Monday, June 19 at East Liberty UMC in Monroeville. MARK ALLEN MASTERS, a mission executive of the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, died suddenly of a heart attack on May 14, 2006 while visiting missionaries in Nepal. Masters, 48, was regional executive for mission personnel in Europe, North Africa, Middle East and South & Central Asia of the General Board of Global Ministries. He had himself served as a missionary in Africa and the Solomon Islands. GERTRUDE B. MILLARD, mother of the Rev. Dr. Kent Millard, senior pastor Saint Luke's UMC, Indianapolis (SIC), died June 7, 2006. A memorial services was held June 14 at Saint Luke's UMC. Another memorial service was held June 17 at First UMC, Rapid City, S.D. with burial at Pine Lawn Cemetery. She is survived by children: Sheilah Eddy of Seattle, Kent of Indianapolis, Judy of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Darshan Klassen of Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. MILLER, husband of Agnes Miller former president of the North Indiana Conference United Methodist Women and currently chairperson of the Indiana Area Committee on Episcopacy, died May 23, 2006. A graveside memorial service was held May 27at Decatur (Ind.) Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to Hospice Home, Fort Wayne or United Methodist Women's Missions. Survivors include: wife, Agnes of Decatur; son, Alan Miller of Decatur; daughter, Colleen (Andy) Fuller of Linden; son, Robert (Page) Miller of Zionsville; two granddaughters; one grandson; and one step-granddaughter.. RAYMOND RHODA, retired pastor (SIC), died May 21, 2006. A memorial service was held May 26 at the Greenwood UMC with burial at the Forest Lawn Memory Garden. Survivors include: wife, Betty Rhonda, 8805 Madison Ave., Bldg. 3, Apt. 107C, Indianapolis, IN 46227; two daughters, Marcia Golden and Patricia Vanousdol; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. DICK ROYAL, a former North Indiana Conference leader in a variety of social causes, died June 12, 2006. A memorial service was held June 17at Woodmar United Methodist Church in Hammond. He is survived by his wife, Barb; a son, Carl; and a daughter, Judy Patenode and was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne. Condolences may be sent to Barb Royal, 7143 Olcott Ave., Hammond, IN 46323-2043. ELIZABETH STANTON, widow of the late Rev. Charles F. Stanton (SIC), died May 26, 2006. A memorial service was held June 1 at the Trinity UMC in New Albany with burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Survivors include: a daughter, Ellen Spall; a son, James Stanton; and three grandchildren. MAX TOLIVER, retired part-time pastor (SIC), died May 10, 2006. A memorial service was held May 13 at the Ochs-Tetrich Funeral Home in Orleans, Ind., with burial in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Orleans. Survivors include: his wife, Maxine Toliver; two daughters, Stephanie Holmes, 390 Hickory Heights Dr., Bedford, IN 47421 and Jan Metcalf; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. ROBERT D. TRUEBLOOD, pastor of Alto UMC in Kokomo (NIC), died May 24, 2006. A memorial service was held May 30 at at the Alto UMC in Kokomo, Ind. Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Mary Trueblood and Pat Klos; and granddaughters, Amanda Klos and Wendy Trueblood. Condolences may be sent to Phyllis Trueblood, 2102 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. JOHN VAYHINGER, died June 11, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was well known in Indiana having been on the teaching staff at Anderson University and Garrett Theological Institute (Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary). He also served the local church as pastor. A memorial service was held June 19 at First UMC in Colorado Springs, Colo. Survivors include: wife, Ruth (sister of Bill Imler, retired missionary in the Fort Wayne District); two children, Jack and Karen Childs; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
