Bishop, Foundation thank congregations for supporting volunteer center build in Mississippi

Indiana Area Bishop Coyner and the Rev. Jim Gentry, executive director of the Indiana Area United Methodist Foundation, thank these congregations (in order of service) who have sent volunteers to build the Seashore District Volunteer Center in D'Iberville, Mississippi during the month of April.

Included in April were 41 congregations (church and city): McGrainsville, Amboy; Pendleton; Cromwell; St. Luke's, Indy; St. Mark's, Bloomington; First, Decatur; Huntertown; Butler; Zion, Kokomo; Yorktown; Elk River; Largo; First, Bluffton; Santa Claus; First, Oak Park, Ill.; Newburgh; Maple Hill, Indy; Avon; Asbury Chapel, Montpelier; Irvington, Indy; St. Malachy Catholic, Brownsburg; Grace, South Bend; Christ, New Castle; Cicero; First, Mishawaka; Galveston; Bethany, Fort Wayne; Chapel Hill Christian, Alto; Cornerstone, Oak Park, Ill., First, Plainwell, Minn.; St. Luke's, Windmier, Fla., North Webster; First Baptist, Warren; Meridian Street, Indy; St. Matthew, Anderson; Emmanuel, West Terre Haute; Royal Center; First, Plymouth; Trinity, New Albany; First, Noblesville; and Speedway, Indy.

Coyner and Gentry also extend their thanks to these 49 congregations and groups for their generous contributions to financially support the Seashore District Volunteer Center during the month of April to press time. The Seashore District Volunteer Center was formally consecrated by Bishop Mike Coyner at D'Iberville on Monday, May 15.

Thank you for your generous contributions to this now completed project. At press time, $113,760 has been received, leaving a balance of $86,484 to be raised. If each United Methodist congregation in Indiana would give just $100 to this project during May, the balance would be met easily before the annual conferences in June.

Other contributions were received from individuals for this project, but because of privacy laws, names cannot be printed here.
