Deaths

DONALD D. ABBEY, retired pastor (NIC), died March 23, 2006. A memorial service was held on March 26 at the Pineville Chapel of McEwen Funeral Services in Charlotte, N.C. Survivors include: wife, Dorothy; and daughters, Carolyn Rearick and Donna Glass. CHARLES WILLIAM (BILL) ASKREN, retired pastor (SIC) died March 20, 2006. A memorial service was held March 24 at Bethany UMC in New Middletown, Ind. Memorial contributions can go to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana, 624 E. Market St., New Albany, IN 47150.

JUDIE GEYER, 55, the Church Administrator of Grace UMC in South Bend, died suddenly on Sunday April 30. She served on staff at Grace for 21 years in various roles, the last 15 as church administrator.

W. Lynn Henry, retired pastor (NIC), died April 29, 2006. Survivors include his sons: David Henry, Angola, Ind., and Michael, Charlotte, N.C. Condolences can be sent to David L. Henry, 1275 N. 290 W., Angola, IN 46703.

SHERRI KEENE, 46, daughter of Roselawn UMC's Pastor Dee Keene (SIC), died April 5, 2006 after a long illness. A memorial service was held April 7 at the Moeller Funeral Home in Valparaiso, Ind. Condolences can be sent to: the Rev. Delos Keene, 262 Imperial Court, Hebron, IN 46341

KATHLEEN KLOSTERMN, mother of the Rev. Susan Beckett (NIC), died Sunday, April 2, 2006. A prayer service was held at 10 a.m. on April 6 at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home. A memorial service followed at 11 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church in St. Marys, Ohio. Condolences can be sent to Rev. Beckett at P.O. Box 214 Brook, IN 47922-0214.
