Franklin Community received accreditation from CARF-CCACFRANKLIN, Ind. - The well known United Methodist-related retirement community in Franklin has become the first Johnson County facility to receive accreditation from CARF-CCAC. The Franklin United Methodist Community received the designation for a five-year term through 2010. Dr. Joe Trueblood, executive director of the community said, "It is an honor to have the nation's premier accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities acknowledge that our Community has met their best standard and granted us their highest honor, a five year accreditation period. We are just one of ten organizations in Indiana to achieve this recognition." A facility receiving a five-year term of accreditation has voluntarily put itself through a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site survey that it is committed to conforming to CARF-CCAC's stringent accreditation conditions and standards. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) merged in 2003 and now touch more than 5.1 million individuals served in a wide range of human service organizations. The Franklin United Methodist Community, located at 1070 W. Jefferson Street in Franklin, has operated as a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community since 1957. The accreditation recognizes their quest for quality programs and services to seniors and their families.
