MARGARET ANN ALLRED, spouse of the Rev. W. Robert Allred, retired Elder (SIC), died Nov. 15, 2006. A memorial service was held Nov. 18 in the Wright Memorial Chapel at the Franklin Community in Franklin, Ind. with burial at Mooresville (Ind.) Cemetery. Survivors include: her husband, the Rev. Robert Allred, 1120 N. Methodist Dr., Franklin, IN 46131; two daughters, Ann Jones and Amy Uhl; two sons, Alan and Aaron. RICHARD ARMSTRONG, retired pastor (SIC), died Oct. 28, 2006. A memorial service was held Nov. 4 at Grace UMC in Franklin, Ind. Survivors include: his wife, Jean Armstrong, 121 Reagan Circle, Franklin, IN 46131; son, Joe Armstrong; daughter, Laura Bowman, and three grandchildren. MALCOLM B. BALLINGER, retired Elder (NIC) died Nov. 17, 2006. A memorial service was held on Nov. 17 at the Chapel Hill UMC in Indianapolis. Survivors include: his brother, Meredith Ballinger; son, David Ballinger of Davie, Fla.; daughter, Carol Sypher of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; daughter, Alice Stevenson of Galena, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family encourages donations to support advanced professional development for the staff of the Chapel Hill UMC, 963 N. Girls School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46214. HUBERT L. BARLOW, retired pastor (NIC), died Dec. 19, 2006. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Survivors include: his wife, Barbara; two sons, Thomas B. Barlow and Hubert L. BATES, surviving spouse of the late Rev. Glen Bates (SIC) died Nov. 13, 2006. A memorial service was held Nov. 17 at the Ziemer Funeral Home in Evansville, Ind. with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery in Richland, Ind. TONY A. BROOKS, an Elder on incapacity leave (NIC), died Dec. 8, 2006. A memorial service was held Dec. 13 at the Galveston UMC in Galveston, Ind. RUTH BROWN, mother of retired Deacon (NIC) the Rev. William (Bill) Brown and mother-in-law of retired Deacon, the Rev. Judith Brown, died Dec. 6, 2006. William Brown had served as Director of Music at Grace UMC, Kokomo and as the organist at the North Indiana Annual Conference. NELLIE H. FLETCHER, surviving spouse of the late Rev. Barton Fletcher (NIC), died Nov. 28, 2006. A memorial service was held Dec. 2 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, Ind. with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Survivors include: daughters, Margaret Howd, Amy Kathleen Murphy, Deanna Fletcher and Donna Atkins; sisters, Kathleen Parks and Lillian Bates; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. JANE STOUT FRIBLEY, widow of the late Rev. Robert W. Fribley (SIC), died Nov. 8, 2006. A memorial service was held Dec. 9 at the Bethel UMC in Indianapolis. Survivors include: three daughters, Nancy Snider of Geneva, Ill., Barbara Weidenbener of Indianapolis and Sarah Reynolds of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one son, Rob Fribley of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. See page 3 for more information. J. STANLEY HOWELL, retired pastor (SIC), died Dec. 16, 2006. A memorial service was held Dec. 21 at the Maple Avenue UMC in Terre Haute with burial in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Huffman, retired pastor (NIC), died Dec. 8, 2006. A Celebration of Life service was held Dec. 12 at First UMC in Melbourne, Fla. Survivors include: her husband, Harry; children: Bill, Judy and Dan. MALONE, retired pastor (NIC), died Nov. 9, 2006 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Malone also served the Calumet District as Superintendent, and played a prominent role at the Gary and Merrillville Methodist Hospitals as both chaplain and member of the Board of Directors. A memorial service was held Nov. 14 at Saint Timothy Community Church in Gary, Ind. JERRY NELSON, pastor of Calvary UMC in Dunkirk, Ind., (NIC) died Dec. 16, 2006. He was the father of the Rev. Chris Nelson, Losantville UMC (NIC). A memorial service was held Dec. 21 at the West Jay Middle School in Dunkirk, Ind. Survivors include: his wife, Kathy; sons, Chris Nelson, Losantville and Curt Nelson, Dunkirk; mother, F. Joann Nelson; two grandchildren; and a god-granddaughter. Survivors include: his wife, Madonna; son, Charles David Persons, Columbia City; daughter, Gretchen Greubel of Ft. Wayne; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. WILLIAM F. SWEIGART, retired local pastor (SIC), died Dec. 21, 2006. A memorial service was held Dec. 24 at Jacob Finger UMC in Mitchell, Ind. with burial in the Mitchell Cemetery. Survivors include: wife, Donna Sweigart; two sons, Fred Sweigart and Tony Sweigart; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
