The Mission Statement:
"The mission of the Indiana Area Communications is to make visible the Christian faith in the life of The United Methodist Church in Indiana."
The Vision Statement:
"Indiana Area Communications shall achieve its mission through communications and public relations. We shall use print media, electronic media, emerging forms of communication and educational events to deliver our message and enhance the faith and witness of United Methodists in Indiana."

In order to closely control costs and in keeping with the changing variety of communication needs, Area Communications relies heavily on professional assistance and consultation from freelancers and and volunteers. Bishop Michael J. Coyner and the Indiana Area Communications Commission maintain oversight over the operation with quarterly reviews of its activities.
