Prayer
Sunday For Bishop White
Both North and South Indiana Conference
Committees on the Episcopacy are calling on all local churches to pray
for our bishop on the Sunday nearest his birthday - Aug. 25.
'Ten
Commandments' To Move
Last
year, in a law suit filed by the Indiana Civil Liberties Union it was
stated that the Ten Commandments monument displayed on public property
in front of Mishawaka's City Hall violates the First Amendment
requirement for the separation of church and state. As a result, the
monument has been ordered to be removed. The 2,500-pound monument will
be relocated to Mishawaka's First UMC. Rev. Lorin Clemenz is pastor.
Dan

Executive Officer (CEO) of Clarian Health Partners while a national

Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children.

New
'Apartment Church' Starts
Pathways UMC, is a new church start in the
Irish Hills apartment complex on South Bend's south side. It meets in
Pastor Kevin Buckley's apartment living room for the time being, and is
based on a Southern Baptist model for reaching high-density populations.
Currently, the church is growing through small groups and community
service projects. Read more about it in the September HUM News.
