Fenstermacher withdraws from episcopal elections
DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Rev. Mark Fenstermacher has withdrawn today
from the episcopal elections at the North Central Jurisdictional
Conference here.
Fernstermacher withdrew following the 14th ballot thanking his wife,
Sharon, and the North Indiana Conference for their support. He said he
felt God's leading in his decision, but did not see how he or others
presently in the running could win since none were coming close to the
60 percent needed for election.
During the 14th ballot, the name of the Rev. Ann Glass of Plainfield
(Ind.) United Methodist Church received 13 votes and was entered into
election process. She received 21 votes and 20 votes respectively on the
15th and 16th ballots.
The Rev. Sally Dyck of Moreland Hills, Ohio, continued to lead on the
16th ballot with 148 votes but with 185 votes needed to be elected.
Timothy Bias of First UMC of Peoria, Ill, received 127 votes on the same
ballot.
