Volunteers needed in South Indiana
Volunteers in mission who wish to work on tornado relief need to
report to Evansville's Epworth United Methodist Church, 4455 Epworth Rd,
in Newburgh. Newburgh UMC is still without electricity, and the church
is located behind the check-point area.
The National Guard is not allowing anyone to enter past the
check-point area without a pass. Newburgh UMC has been feeding survivors
using outdoor grills, and by using generators.
Pastor Randy Anderson , Evansville District Acting Disaster Response
Coordinator, said that Epworth UMC will accommodate volunteers who want
to serve more than one day. The church has showers and a kitchen.
Volunteers will need to bring a sleeping bag. Please call Pastor Mike
Monahan (812) 853-8107 at the church or Randy Anderson (812) 568-4746
before volunteering and/or staying at Epworth UMC. There have been
delays getting our volunteers to the affected areas. Randy thanks
everyone for their patience and their willingness to serve.
