DEATHS: HOWELL, NELSON

J. STANLEY HOWELL, retired pastor (SIC), died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. in Terre Haute. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Maple Avenue UMC, 1203 Maple Ave. in Terre Haute with visitation preceding the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the Maple Ave. UMC, 1203 Maple Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47804.

JERRY NELSON, pastor of Calvary UMC, Dunkirk, Ind., (NIC) died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. Jerry is the father of the Rev. Chris Nelson, Losantville UMC (NIC). Visitation will be Wed., Dec. 20 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Calvary UMC, Dunkirk. A memorial service is scheduled for Thurs., Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. at the West Jay Middle School Gymnasium, 140 Highland Ave., Dunkirk, Ind. The Revs. Dale Mendenhall and Lamar Imes will be officiating. Survivors include: his wife, Kathy; sons, Chris Nelson, Losantville and Curt Nelson, Dunkirk; mother, F. Joann Nelson; two grandchildren; and a god-granddaughter. Condolences may be sent to Kathy Nelson, 311 N. Main St., Dunkirk, IN 47336-1236 and the Rev. Chris Nelson, P.O. Box 96, Losantville, IN 47354-0096. Memorials may be given to Calvary UMC Building Fund, P.O. Box 233, Dunkirk, IN 47336 or to Pheasants Forever.
