TONIGHTMURDER MYSTERY AT INDY’S EPWORTH: WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?The Epworth United Methodist Church Green Team of Indianapolis is offering a free screening on TONIGHT, Friday, May 9, of the award-winning Sony Pictures documentary Who Killed the Electric Car?, an eye-opening look at what happened to General Motor’s zero-emissions electric car. The documentary will be shown at 7 p.m. at the church, 6450 Allisonville Road in Indianapolis. Who Killed the Electric Car? chronicles the life and mysterious death of the GM EV1, examining its cultural and economic ripple effects and how they reverberated through the halls of government and big business. The University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community's ongoing IN Place series is dedicated to addressing issues related to aging in place. PEACE WITH JUSTICE SUNDAY TO BE CELEBRATED MAY 18Your gift offers The United Methodist Church a voice in advocating for peace and justice at home and around the world. Peace with Justice Sunday is celebrated the Sunday after Pentecost. That’s May 18 this year. However, this special emphasis and offering can be received at any time of the year. Recipients: Each of the two Indiana annual conferences keeps 50 percent of the receipts for Peace with Justice Ministries within the conference. The remaining 50 percent is used for Peace with Justice Ministries related to the General Board of Church and Society. The 2007 offering totaled $301,357 nationwide. In the South Indiana Conference, PWJ offering funds are used to help support gambling recovery, prison and jail ministry, and inmate reentry partnerships.
